This recipe is from the Summer 2008 issue of Hobby Farm Home magazine and it is so good. I thought I lost it and almost cried so I'm blogging it so that never happens again.
Brown Sugar Cream Soda with Real Dairy Cream-
2 cups spring or well water
1 cup organic brown sugar, lightly packed
1 T. real vanilla extract
1 T. lemon juice
Heavy cream to taste
Bring water to a boil and completely dissolve brown sugar in it. Once dissolved, add lemon juice and remove from heat. Add the vanilla after mixture has cooled slightly so it's aroma won't dissipate in the high heat. Cool and store in refrigerator.
Makes about 2 cups of syrup. To serve, try 1 part cream, 2 parts syrup and 3 parts carbonated water, adjusting to taste.
